Explore a compact view of the observations and status that an operator chooses to keep close at hand.
DEFENSE TECHNOLOGIESVisual Interface for Situational Tracking and Awareness. A forearm-mounted operator view conceived as an extension of PROVE-1.

VISTA-1 explores a wearable interface for viewing selected aircraft observations and mission context in the field. Its name stands for Visual Interface for Situational Tracking and Awareness. It is conceived as a compact extension of PROVE-1 rather than a separate command system.
The design direction focuses on clear information hierarchy, quick review and a restrained display. The physical device, connectivity and field performance have not been validated.
Explore a compact view of the observations and status that an operator chooses to keep close at hand.
Study how selected ground-software information could be presented on a wearable interface.
Evaluate legibility, fit and interaction with users before specifying hardware or operating conditions.
The concept requires user research and hardware evaluation before becoming a product program.
Identify which observations are useful on a wearable screen and when operators need them.
Test information hierarchy and interaction with a screen-sized software prototype.
Gather feedback on readability, fit and workflow before making durability or connectivity claims.
VISTA-1 is a concept study. The image is a visual exploration, not a photograph of working ACTPROVE hardware or a deployed interface.
